Sotiria Kyrmanidou was born in Thessaloniki. She lives in Sidirokastro, Serres. She studied Social Work in Athens and later obtained her degree from PATES - SELETE Thessaloniki. She was appointed to KEPEP in Sidirokastro as a Social Worker in 1980 where she served until 1989. Since then she worked in the large family of Special Education (Special Primary School of Serres, TEE of Special Education of Serres) until June 2010 where she left the service. She is active in the field of volunteering as a radio producer with two weekly shows on RADIO KIVOTOS of the Holy Metropolis of Serres and Nigritis. She has been multi- awarded by both Panhellenic and World literary competitions. She has been honored twice with the Βenevolence Award ( a global award for her contribution to Literature and Culture) and with many other awards and titles. Her fairy tales, collections and all her books have been awarded nationwide.
